MMM Switzerland Secures Prestigious Hospital Project

Success as a Full-Service Provider

Mike Schwegler and Peter Marti, Technical Director at MMM Switzerland, explained how the MMM project team was able to meet all customer needs with tailored, high-level solutions: “The entire CSSD was equipped using our holistic MMM solution. Michael Koller, owner of the MMM Group, visited the site to learn about the challenges of the project firsthand. During his tour of the CSSD at KSB, he received detailed insights from the project team and CSSD department head, Varghese Oommen. “I’m proud that our high-quality equipment is represented in this facility. The team has done an outstanding job.” This year, MMM Switzerland, the first of MMM’s subsidiaries, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. “I’ll definitely be there,” Michael Koller confirmed.

Hospital of the Future

Siemens Building Technologies, responsible for the building systems, describes the new KSB facility as one of the “smartest” hospitals. General planner Stefano Ghisleni explains the advantages:“The entire building automation is simply incredible. The facility essentially runs itself and will eventually even be able to self-correct, as everything is fully networked.” In terms of energy efficiency, with its “highly sustainable and integrated energy supply,” the new hospital in Baden is also considered one of the most “innovative” clinics in Switzerland, Ghisleni adds. Architecturally, the hospital emphasizes a healing environment: bright interiors, soft color schemes, and natural materials like wood characterize the design.

The medical technology company Siemens Healthineers, with which KSB has entered an exclusive technology partnership for the hybrid operating theatre, counts the hospital as one of only eight reference hospitals worldwide. In a hybrid OR, patients benefit from faster, safer, and less invasive procedures, as surgical and diagnostic procedures — especially in vascular and spinal surgery — can take place simultaneously. The new hospital also focuses on the needs of patients and staff: a navigation system helps everyone find their way around the facility. Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, and even medication fridges operate autonomously through sensor technology. According to the Badener Tagblatt, the population of the Canton of Aargau will benefit from these innovations in this “Hospital of the Future.”
